Through the generosity yearly gifts from La-Z-Boy Midwest, the Foundation distributes funds to teachers and administrators for innovative and extraordinary educational materials, to enrich the classroom learning environment for our students. Since 2007, the Foundation has distributed $66,465 in Learning Enrichment Grants across the District. Some things that have been provided are college visits for high school seniors, STEM Lego Sets for 2nd Graders at Goodman Elementary School, and eBooks for the library at G. W. Carver Elementary School.
Learning Enrichment grants are given on the basis of applications submitted twice per year by our educators. Applications for funding are prioritized based upon the following criteria: (a) programs that impact the largest number of students; (b) programs that are cooperative in nature with other organizations; (c) programs that are matched by other agencies; and (d) programs that are related to or supplement Extraordinary Education Grants made by the Foundation or the Foundation’s other campaigns.
